Mara Finerty

Many years of voice lessons, acting training, and professional acting work now bring me to voice over….well, after a couple decades working in tech, biotech, financial services and some well-know arts non-profits in San Francisco as an HR leader and attorney. Professional acting work included two companies of Les Miserables, leading roles in Sondheim musicals and lots of Shakespeare.

After many, many years of supporting others in their careers and work, I decided it was time to get back to what I love and what excites me most - using my voice to bring ideas, emotions and concepts to life.

With my experience as an actor and singer, I show up in the booth as a pro, able to shape my voice to express the ideas, emotions and objectives of the script in front of me. I’m creative, quick, make strong choices and take direction very well - my training in improv and as a coach has taught me how to listen well and react quickly. I can turn on a dime and improv with ease.

My age range is wide, from 25 - 60, and even wider with character work - my voice has been described as warm, confident, classy, witty and humorous.

Combining my vocal training, acting experience with my work as a business executive/attorney, I have a keen ability to bring intelligence, life and light to a wide variety of scripts and projects - and I can shift gears quickly when asked to try something new or different with ad copy or a character script.
