I have taken formal training through Voicespot with coaching from voice professionals Dan Wilmot and Paul Boucher: "Performance for the Microphone," "Making Magic with Your Voice," "Becoming the Voice Artist," and "Business and Marketing for Voice Over."I have honed my skills through a variety of creative pursuits.
Before becoming a voice artist, I worked as an elementary school teacher, and used my voice to capture - and keep - the attention of many highly distractible young students through engaging lesson plans and reading stories aloud with a range of different character voices. I have done much public speaking, and I am often asked to be the person to speak at public gatherings. I regularly consult two professional and experienced voice artists for constructive criticism and honest feedback on my voice work. I regularly listen to a range of voiceover podcasts to stay current on topics within the industry.
I am a music lover! I regularly attend live music events in all different genres. I sometimes perform as a back up singer and play percussion in a local band. I regularly take the time to listen purposefully and acutely to music - and to have it spark visual images and emotions in my mind. In my spare time, enjoy choosing background tracks and mixing in sound effects to accent my voiceover demos.
